Visitacion Valley is a neighborhood in southeastern San Francisco just south of Hunters Point. It's described as a mostly working-class neighborhood of the city.

In 2011 a project was begun to enlarge and modernize the drainage system, adding to it the $53 million dollar Sunnydale auxiliary sewer tunnel.

In 1999 the Visitacion Valley Greenway was opened.

Visitacion Valley was a spot heavily used and inhabited by Native Americans of the Bay Area, the Ramaytush (also called the San Francisco Costanoans). The Ramaytush people of this particular area are the Yelamu and their settlements in the area were named Amuctac and Tubsinte. The Yelamu Ohlone are represented in current day San Francisco by the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe.
