The Avila and Sons homemade banner and nut butter products.Fresh peanuts and cherries!

David Avila, one of the sons of Avila and Sons Farms, is a 5th generation farmer in his family. Their farm is comprised of almost 100 acres in Hanford, CA and 30 in Fresno specializing in naturally grown fruits and nuts. The family regularly attends the Santa Monica, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo Thursday Night Farmers' Markets selling their nut butters, pecans, pistachios, apricots, cherries, walnuts, almonds and more. "The best thing I like is just being out in the field and having the alone time. Now I have been more involved in the markets and getting to know the people" said David of his farming experience. Abigail Avila, the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Avila and a helper at the booths had this to say: "I love the area and just being able to meet new people, sell our produce, and have a good time! Its a different experience than from where I'm from".

More recently, Avila and Sons have started educational outreach in Los Angeles. "Everything we raise on the farm comes straight to the classroom or stand. We're in LA teaching kids about farming and where their food comes from" said David.
