United States President

The 2012 general election brought President Obama (D) back for 4 more years. Though his support throughout California as a whole was pretty solid (59.2%) the votes from San Luis Obispo County were quite a bit closer. Obama garnered 48.93% while Mitt Romney (R) a very close 47.61%. Gary Johnson (L) came in third at 1.28% and Jill Stein (G) fourth with 0.84%

United States Senate

Diane Feinstein (D) took the seat in the Senate with 61.4% of the California votes and 51.21% of the SLO County votes.

United States House of Representatives

Lois Capps (D) took the seat in the house for California District 24 with 54.8% from the district as a whole. Abel Maldonado (R) was the runner up. Capps captured 51.53% of the SLO County votes.

California State Senator

Larry Beaman (R) (51.41%) beat Bill Monning (D) (48.59%).

California State Assembly

K.H. Achadjian (R) received 61.77% of the votes for the 35th District seat.

San Luis Obispo Mayor

Jan Marx stayed in office with 62.87%, beating out Steve Barasch (29.50%) and Donald Hedrick (7.15%)

San Luis Obispo City Council

Dan Carpenter and John B. Ashbaugh won 31.97% and 31.07% of the votes respectively for the two available seats, beating runner ups Jeff Aranguena and Kevin Rice.
