Pirate’s Cove is a beach located just south of Avila Beach.
Its name comes from unsubstantiated rumors that Sir Francis Drake buried treasure there. It has also been called “Cave Landing” and “Mallagh’s Landing” (David Mallagh ran a wharf at the site).1
What a gem to have in SLO! A nude beach! Who would have thought! If you are a student, or just a resident, you should definitely make it down sometime. Its pretty awesome.
