The San Luis Obispo County YMCA has been deeply rooted in the community for more than fifty years. Our organization is service based and reaches nearly every area of the county. Whether you're a local or brand new to the area, being a Y member gives you the opportunity to explore the many ways you can join us in a fit and healthy lifestyle.  When you're at the Y, you can make friends, discuss the latest best seller in the book club, enjoy a therapeutic and relaxing massage after a long day, or simply sit and have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper.

You can work out alone, with a personal trainer, or join a class led by a certified instructor.  The Y's friendly and highly trained staff is available to answer your questions and acquaint you with the many activities we offer. There is something for everyone of every age...sports; art; yoga; racquetball; dance; and much more.  If you want to be active and involved in your community, the Y is the place to be.

Our goal is to help you develop your mind, body, and spirit in a relaxed atmosphere that makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We believe in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We offer financial assistance, payment plans, away-member benefits, and senior programs covered by many insurance plans. The San Luis Obispo County YMCA invites you to come in and see what we have to offer.

The building originally opened as a Racquetball club named "The Courthouse" in the mid to late 1970s.  Some of the original courts have been connected to create easier access between weightrooms.
