Avast me mateys, The 2nd Annual PIRATE FESTIVAL will be dropping anchor at Historic Fort York this weekend! Grab your parrots, hooks, and eye patches and get ready to walk the plank, ye scurvy dogs. For seven days Calico Jack, Anne Bonny and their playful band of scallywags be taking over Fort York with high sea adventure!

This Labour Day weekend, landlubbers, sea cap’ns and all who share the heart of a pirate be welcome. The village stage will be filled from morning 'til evening with family friendly shows. There be buxom beauties and wenches on hand, music and comedy, feats of skill and bravery, sword fighting, and buried treasure to hunt. For ye entertainment pleasure, there be performances by Captain Thom Bedlam, pirate magician, performance troupes Men in Tights and Ship of Fools, music by Ceol Cara, and much more!

Over forty vendors from across North America will set up shop in the Pirate village. Browse the marketplace while the wee ones hunt for buried pirate treasure. See live demonstrations of blacksmithing, leatherworking and boat building. Take home a handcrafted piece of jewellery or period-inspired clothing. Visit the local tavern for a pint of grog or a glass of lemonade and taste a scrumptious turkey leg or homemade sweet treats from the local food sellers.

Daytime's for swinging from the rigging and games in the sun, but the night is when pirates really cut loose. Enter, if you dare, The Thirsty Parrot Tavern for a night of Jolly Rogering ( Saturday, September 1, 7:30 - 11 pm); an evening of bawdy drinking songs, buxom wenches, dangerous stunts, and enough laughter to fill the poop deck!
