The Golden Driller, a tribute to oil industry workers, is a 76-feet tall and 43,500 pound statue located at the Tulsa Expo Center. The Golden Driller has stood his post at the Expo Center since the 1966 International Petroleum Exposition, but he was "born" in 1953 at the Mid-Continental Supply Company. Since 1979, the Golden Driller has been the official state monument of Oklahoma.
