The main station campus is a "village" which houses the living and working spaces of students, educators, and researchers. It includes student cabins , faculty cabins, teaching labs, the Stockard Lakeside Lab, the hilltop research field and greenhouse, the atmospheric instrument field, a dining hall, lecture hall, administrative offices, meeting spaces, a vegetable garden, and maintenance facilities.

Several long-term datasets of weather and environment are maintained at the station campus.

The campus lies adjacent to South Fishtail Bay of Douglas Lake.  Grapevine point and pine point are nearby features on the station property.
