2018 Open House coming up @ Lake Washington Sailing Club!  

Saturday, April 28th from 10:30 to 3:30 in West Sacramento.  Free Sailboat Rides! 

Open to everyone—Sailors and non-sailors, young & old!  Bring warm, non-cotton clothing and a life jacket if you have one (if not, one will be provided). Free sailboat rides depending on weather conditions on a first-come, first-serve basis with minimum age/size requirement.  Windsurfing and other fleet demo's.  Great Fun for all ages! 

Lake Washington Sailing Club is an association of individuals interested in small boat sailing, windsurfing and racing. We are an independent club licensed by the Port of West Sacramento, only four miles west of downtown Sacramento, and just nine miles from Davis. Windsurfing

Windsurfing? in W. Sac???  YES!

Lake Washington, just off Industrial Blvd., at the Port of Sacramento, gets the Delta Breeze from May to September.  Great conditions for beginning windsurfers: relatively warm, flat water.  Windsurfing is a core-building, total-body workout, without repetitive joint-stress.  Lake Washington Sailing Club has boards and pre-rigged sails available for members to check out.  

Saturday classes start May 5th from Noon to 4:00 pm -- $40/members, $60/non-members.  Subsequent classes:  May 19thJune 2nd & 16thJuly 7th & 28th

Who: Monday Men's C & C/D League

Tuesday Men's D & C/D League

Thursday Coed C/D League

Friday Coed D & C/D League.

C is a more competitive league and D is more recreational. Included: Each team is guaranteed 10 games. One umpire and one scorekeeper per game.

Free Tournament: The first 6 teams in the men's and coed division will be invited to play in a FREE tournament. The men's free tournament will be held on Tuesday, July 10th and the coed free tournament will be held on Thursday, July 12th. Rosters must be completed and turned into the scorekeeper before the tournament in order to participate.

Specifics: Batter enters the box with a one strike and one ball count. Balls will be provided. Coed league may use an 11 inch ball for a women batter.

Coed Soccer for Adults

Who: Men and Women 18 years of age and up.

Included: Eight (8) games. Two referees and one staff per game.

Players must wear similar colored jerseys and each player will need a different number on the back. All players must check in with an ID before each game.

Lunch Basketball League

Who:For men and women, ages 14 and up. Any participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

Included:Tuesday-Thursday from 11:45am-1:15pm at the Russian Baptist Church, 1000 Sacramento Ave. (we anticipate being able to play every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, however there may be cancellations. We hope to be able to notify you with as much notice as possible). First time participants will receive a reversible jersey. Each session will end with a hosted pizza lunch.

Adult 5 on 5 Basketball

Our popular adult basketball program is now accepting teams for the Fall 2007 league. League play begins the week of September 9th and runs through November 4th. Limited space available, sign up early.

Dolphins Swim Team

www.wsdolphins.org The West Sacramento Dolphins Swim Team is a cooperative effort between our city, parents, schools, local businesses and private donations. The purpose and objective of the club is to provide a service to the children of our community.

Goals: The program's goals are: To build self-esteem through competitive swimming To teach good sportsmanship and pride To unite the members in friendship and team spirit

Teen Basketball Clinic/League for Girls

(Ages 12-17): This NEW clinic is open to Girls ages 12-17. Do not miss out on this great experience. Our own River City High School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Jamie King, will lead the clinic along with other volunteer coaches. Clinic will run for the first part with drills and skills and the second part will be scrimmage style. Time, Location, & Dates: 9:00-11:00am at the River City High School Gym on 3/24, 3/31, 4/21, & 4/28 (no program on 4/7 & 4/14). Registration: Regular registration is $30 per player (plus $5 is non-city resident)

Junior Giants Baseball

Sponsored by the San Francisco Giants Community Fund. Open to boys and girls ages 5-14. Four divisions: T-Ball (ages 5-7), Minors (ages 8-10), Majors (ages 11-14). Teams are co-ed and will play a seven (7) game schedule. Program includes limited tickets to a San Francisco Giants game. Call 617-4620 for information. Cost: Free. Learn to Skate Camp

Are you ready for an extreme week of skateboarding? Join skateboard pro Ron Allen with a fun filled week of skateboarding. Learn all the latest tricks, stunts, and techniques as well as safety and pre-skate training. It's all about learning, laughing, and skating! Who, When: Boys and Girls ages 7-14

NFL FLAG Football

Sponsored by the National Football League, Oakland Raiders and NIKE. Open to boys and girls ages 5 - 14. Teams are coed and there is no tackling in NFL FLAG football, but lots of action. Each new participant will receive an NFL FLAG jersey, mouth piece and, at the end of the season a certificate of participation. Practices and Games: Coaches will schedule the practices. Jr. NBA/WNBA Basketball

Registration for 2008-2009 is now. West Sacramento's Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA program begins in January. The program is open to boys and girls ages 5 - 14. Divisions are: Ages 5-6 Boys; 5-7 Girls; 7-8 Boys; 8-10 Girls; 9-10 Boys; 11-12 Girls; 11-12 Boys; 13-14 Girls and 13-14 Boys. Age as of December 1, 2008. Games are played on Saturdays. Jr. Olympic Skills Competition

The U.S. Jr. Olympic Skills Competition is for boys and girls, 8 to 13 years of age. Every youngster has the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities in four Olympic Sports - basketball, soccer, tennis and track & field.

Pepsi Pitch, Hit & Run

The official baseball skills competition of Major League Baseball. Participants will test their pitching skills by throws balls at a target. They will test their hitting skills by hitting a ball off a tee and measuring both distance and accuracy. Finally, their running skills will be tested on their speed from second base to home plate. Open to boys and girls, ages 7-14. Winners advance to the sectional competition in late May. Cost: Free. Events will take place at Kid Zone program sites and GSMS. Hershey’s Track and Field

Sponsored by the Hershey Foods Company, this program gives kids, ages 9-14, the opportunity to experience the world of track & field. Participants can compete in a variety of running events, including the 50 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter, and 400 meter. Field events include the standing long jump and the softball throw. Registration begins in September for this popular football skills competition. Participants will punt, pass, and kick a football as far as they can. Yoga For Adults

Bryte Yoga and Wellness seeks to stretch and relax the body through intentional movement, breathing exercises, and quiet meditation in a stress-free environment. Yoga is for everyone. Self Esteem – Discipline – Confidence: Develop all these skills as you learn the ancient art of Karate. 2nd degree black belt instructor who is excellent with children. Contests for the children. No long term contracts or required equipment!

Camp Lakeside

Camp Lakeside is a fun and quality All Day Camp program that is offered during school breaks and all summer. This all day camp is for children between 5 and 12 years old (K-6th). Participants will in enjoy an array of exciting and fun activities including games, crafts, cooking projects, drama, science, and sports! Children are offered two healthy snacks daily however each child is required to provide their own lunch. This program is offered first come first serve and limited space is available! K.I.D.S

Located at a park near you, the K.I.D.S. program is for children 5-12 years of age. This Summer's Theme is "K.I.D.S. Power Up!" — helping kids " Step Up to Health and Safety" while exploring our local community. There will be daily arts and crafts, games, sports & water fun! We will have weekly special events such as our Annual Talent Show, as well as, field trips to bowl, roller skate, and much more!
