CVS Pharmacy is the second-largest drugstore chain in the United States (after Walgreens), with approximately 9,967 stores. Founded in 1963 in Lowell, Massachusetts, it is now headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It is a subsidiary of CVS Health. The letters CVS originally stood for "Consumer Value Stores," but the current CEO has said he now considers them to stand for "Customer, Value, and Service."
