The Capay Valley is the valley through which Cache Creek flows. It is bounded on the west by Blue Ridge and on the east by the Capay Hills. Its elevation is 203 feet.

The Capay Valley is the traditional home of the Patwin or southern Wintun people. It is now the home of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, which operates Cache Creek Casino Resort in Capay Valley. It also contains significant wineries.

The Capay Valley is in the rain shadow of Blue Ridge and therefore receives less rain than most of the rest of Yolo County. The plant species that grow there are especially well adapted to drought.
