This is a fun, friendly, homey, cafe that is tucked away at the corner of 2nd Street and Dead Cat Alley. The current owner, Edna Bohon bought it in 2003 and has infused the location with her warm personality. Customers call her "the Mayor of 2nd Street". This former Home Ec./Junior High teacher is full of motherly advice for all who need it. Prior to becoming the Fat Cat Cafe, Wienerworks was at this location and the current restaurant still has many of the old wiener favorites. The Fat Cat features Buckhorn Tri-tip sandwiches, fresh deli style sandwiches, Hot Dogs dressed 10 ways, housemade soups including many from weight watchers recipes, Sacramento baking company bagels, quick breakfast items, and Espresso. They also serve Java city coffees. Edna is also always experimenting with new recipes and loves to do customer requests.
