Pike County Peak is a peak located about 1.5 miles southeast of Challenge. Its elevation is 3,592 feet,1 and its prominence above the surrounding countryside is about 585 feet.2 A hotel called Pike County House, built in 1860 by a Mr. Thompson, operated until 1864 on its northwestern slope.3

There is a high concentration of serpentine in the area extending northwest and southeast of Pike County Peak.
