"Big Moody Curve" or just "Moody Curve" is the long, sharp horse-shoe shaped curve between Idylwild Road and Redwood Estates where highway 17 passes over Moody Gulch and Moody Creek below. It is often referred to in traffic reports and is the most infamous of the landmarks on 17. It is a slightly greater than a 180 degree turn, bracketed by additional 90 degree turns. Accidents are common here, particularly when the pavement is slippery and traffic is heavy.
