The Burro was a well liked but short lived Mexican restaurant at 619 East William Street, now closed. It was voted Ann Arbor's Best Mexican Food by the Michigan Daily in 1993-1994. There was also an even shorter-lived North Ann Arbor location, at the current location of Bewon Korean Restaurant (Plymouth and Green)--soon after this opened, both locations closed.

Even in my three years here I have seen establishments to which I had some sentimental or practical attachment come and go. The Burro on East William Street made way for a sub-par donut shop, which is now a General Nutrition Center. I want a quesadilla but I get creatine.
Since The Burro closed about 10 years ago, there really hasn't been a GREAT burrito in Ann Arbor. At least not that I'm aware of... I'd love to be proven wrong.
