Ypsilanti's Third Ward, First Precinct spans the area between Washtenaw Avenue on the south and Saint Johns Street on the north, from Oakwood Avenue on the west to Lowell Street and Adams Street on the east. These boundaries include approximately half of Eastern Michigan University's main campus, and the student-rental dominated neighborhood in the area around Emmet, Ballard, and Perrin Streets. The 3-1 votes at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 201 N. River Street, and traditionally votes overwhelmingly Democratic, but for very low turnout.
