Zines are small magazines, typically xeroxed, which circulate inexpensively or for free. They are to the 1990s what blogs were to the 2000s, a means of inexpensive self-expression.
Ann Arbor has had multiple zine-related groups:
- Moss (founded by Sheri Trudeau, active in the mid-1990s)
- ZERO (founded by Kevin Smith, active in the early 2000s)
