Photo by MHDouglas The North Texas State Fair and Rodeo is a fair held in Denton, Texas. This annual fair is compact by state fair standards, yet covers every aspect a local fair would encompass.

August 19 – 27, 2011 marked the 83rd annual North Texas Stare Fair. For these 9 days attendees can enjoy live concerts, the rodeo, livestock shows, numerous contests, shopping, a kids’ zone, rodeo queen pageants, an extensive midway and carnival, food and more.  Each year NTSF offers a unique attraction such as The Live Shark Encounter: an interactive experience featuring live sharks.

The fair is one of the largest events in Denton County and averages around 140,000 attendees, attracting crowds from the greater North Texas area and beyond. It is also home to one of the largest PRCA rodeos in the Southwest.

The fair also showcases the best of Texas Country music with nightly concerts free with admission to the fair. 2011's line up included: Randy Rogers, Tracy Lawrence, Casey Donahew Band, Jack Ingram, Emilio Navario, Pauline Reese, Dale Watson, Cody Canada & the Departed, The Josh Abbott Band and many more.
