Charles A. Girouard was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Charles A. Girouard and Bertha Joyal.

Charles Armand Girouard

SARANAC LAKE -- Charles Armand Girouard, 54, died unexpectedly Sunday while hunting in the Potsdam area. He had been a resident of Saranac Lake for over 25 years.

Mr. Girouard was born July 20, in Faust, the son of Charles A. Girouard and Bertha Joyal. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. He had been employed as a meat cutter at the Grand Union in the Ames Plaza. He was married to the late Harriet Favro, who died in 1978. He is survived by a son, Roger, of Ray Brook; a daughter, Donna Jean, of Tupper Lake; a brother, Frank, of Massachusetts; five sisters, Mrs. Rita Onze of Connecticut, Mrs. Gertrude Fisher of Seneca Falls, Mrs. Yevonne Hinckle of Virginia, and Mrs. Linda Kucipek and Mrs. Theresa Flagg, both of Tupper Lake; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Girouard will repose at the Keough and Son Memorial Chapel Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. With Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.
