Ernest J. Drowlette was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of James Drowlette and Delia (Badger) Drowlette of Lake Colby.

SARANAC LAKE - Ernest J. Drowlette, 58, a lifelong resident of the area, died Monday evening at the General Hospital.

He made his residence in Lake Colby.

Mr. Drowlette was born in Saranac Lake, the son of James and Delia (Badger) Drowlette.

He was a World war II veteran of the Army.

At the time of his death, he was a steward for the Veterans Memorial Association, a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 1506; American Legion,Post, 447; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, No. 3357.

Survivors include his wife, the former Gertrude M. Ritterof Saranac Lake; a son, David of Saranac Lake; a brother, Louis of Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. Irene Bruce of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.

He will repose at the Keough and Son, Inc., Memorial Chapels at 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

On Wednesday, there will be a Bible vigil service at 7:15 p.m., an Elks service at 7:45 p.m., and a combined American Legion and VFW veteran's service at 8:15p.m. There will he a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev. Thomas Driscoll officiating.

Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
