Harry Burl was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Sara Fletcher Burl of Saranac Lake.

Harry D. Burl, Lake Colby, died last night on his way to the Saranac Lake General Hospital. The Fire Department had been called to his home for emergency transportation but Mr. Burl had expired by the time he had arrived at the hospital.

Mr. Burl was born in Vermontville, Nov. 8, 1903, and was a longtime resident of this area. He had served in World War II, and was a mechanic for heavy equipment before he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Finch Burl; his mother, Sara Fletcher Burl, of Saranac Lake; two brothers, Herman, of Lake Colby, and Owen, of Saranac Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Farewell, Riverview, N. Y., and Mrs. Marion Cochren, Ft. Edward, N. Y.

Also surviving, in addition to several nieces and nephews, are three step-children: Mrs. Albert Cyrs,[?] Albany, N. Y., Mrs. Ruth Baker, Little Falls, N. Y.; and John Cook, serving in the U. S. Army in Puerto Rico.

The body will repose tonight, beginning at seven, at the Fortune Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Saturday at the home by the Rev. Peter W. O Hill, rector of St. Luke's.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Vermontville, in May.
