H. DANFORTH SR. DIES AT HOME
Harry H. Danforth, 70, veteran insurance broker, died at his home, 7 Winona avenue, at 12:30 o'clock this morning following a prolonged illness.
A resident of this Village for 61 years, he was well known by many who live here. In 1913 he became affiliated with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and remained with them until his retirement in 1947.
Mr. Danforth was at one time chief of the Saranac Lake Fire Department and a member of the Woodruff Hose Company No. 1. He was a member of fhe Saranac Lake Elks and the Royal Arch Masons.
He was born Sept. 9, 1883, in Keene Valley, the son of William and Margaret Cox Danforth.
He is survived by his wife and one son, Harry Danforth Jr., of this Village.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of the A. Fortune Company. The Rev. Ernest Mounsey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
Special services will be conducted in the Chapel at 8 o'clock tomorrow evening by the Elks.
