A life-long resident of Saranac Lake, Margaret DeForge Johnson graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1944. She worked at Stark's Hardware, as a law clerk for several law firms, including Andrew J. McGarrity, and for the Bank of Lake Placid in Saranac Lake from the mid 1960s to 1988, retiring as branch manager. She was a member and volunteer at St. Bernard's Church for many years, and played golf at the Saranac Lake Golf Club in Ray Brook.
