In  1908, after her husband died, Mary M. Noyes bought a cure cottage at 16 Helen Street that became known as the Noyes Cottage. She and her daughter Catherine Noyes operated it as a boarding cottage for ambulatory patients, and added many of the cure porches.  After Mary's death in 1922, and Catherine continued to operate the cottage until some time after World War II.  She is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

MRS. MARY M. NOYES

Mrs. Mary M. Noyes died at her home on Helen street in Saranac Lake on Nov. 19. The funeral was held at St. Bernard's church on Wednesday. Mrs. Noyes was the mother of Mrs. C. J. (Frances Elizabeth) Ortloff of Lake Placid.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Noye was held from St. Bernard's church Wednesday morning of last week at 9:30 o'clock. Solemn high mass was said by Rev. Joseph H. Creedon. She is survived by two sons and two daughters. Death was due to cerebral apoplexy.
