Mary (Mamie) Meagher served as bookkeeper at Boyce and Roberson's. She was active in Democratic politics, and served as president of the Women's Democratic Club.

Democrats Gather In Saranac Lake
A substantial crowd of enthusiastic Democrats gathered Thursday evening at Democratic headquarters in the Hotel Saranac.
The local candidates, Mayor John Ratigan and John Campion, were on hand after a television interview, to greet guests. Miss Mamie Meagher, president of the Women's Democratic club, was hostess to the many who dropped in, serving refreshments from a well-stocked buffet table.

Miss Mary Meagher
Miss Mary A. Meagher, of 21 Academy St., Saranac Lake, died at Saranac Lake General Hospital at 3:10 a. m. today. She had been ill a long time.
Miss Meagher was born in Saranac Lake, April 12, 1894, daughter of the late Michael C. and Katherine Meagher.
For several years, she was employed as bookkeeper at Boyce and Roberson's.
She reactivated the Women's Democratic Club in 1945 and had served as its president. She also was State Democratic Committeewoman from Franklin County, and treasurer of the Saranac Lake Village Democratic Committee.
She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Bernard and a member of St. Bernard's Altar and Rosary Society.
She was a member of the Saranac Lake Duplicate Bridge Club, the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge club, and the High Peaks Duplicate Club, and the Friends of the Library.
Survivors are her cousin, Miss Lillian Hermes, who lived with Miss Meagher, a brother, Raymond E. Meagher of Poughkeepsie, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Keough and Son Memorial Chapel, beginning 2 p. m . Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at the chapel at 7 p. m. Tuesday followed by a Requiem High Mass at 7:30 at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
