Reverend Richard Chatterton was the pastor of the First United Methodist Church from 1979 to 1986.

Dr. Chatterton, a native of Brooklyn, is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Boston University School of Theology.
He did post-graduate work at Cambridge University, England in 1961 and in 1976 earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew University.
Dr. Chatterton was ordained a deacon in the Troy Conference in 1962 and elder in 1963.
He served pastorates in Long Lake and Warrensburg and as associate pastor in Delmar before his appointment in 1971 to his present charge, Faith United Methodist Church in South Burlington, Vt.
