SARANAC LAKE - Richard B. Connor, 83, died Thursday, Jan.  11, 1990 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

He was born in Tupper Lake Oct. 29, 1906, the son of James P. and Florence (McEwen) Connor.  He was a resident of Saranac Lake since 1930, working as a carpenter in heavy construction. He was a member of the Local Carpenters Union 1042 Plattsburgh.

He was a veteran of World War I, serving in Panama, and of World War II, serving in Germany, France and Belgium, where he was assigned to Patton's Third Armor Division.

He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis L. Connor of South Arlington, Va. and Odele Calo of Arizona; a brother, Maurice Connor of Tupper Lake; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 24 at Keough and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Lowenthal, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Saranac Lake, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
