Sunset CampThe land for Sunset Camp on Gull Bay, Upper Saranac Lake, was deeded to Dr. Howard Bucknell by his mother, Emma Bucknell on August 27, 1896 as a wedding present for his first marriage. He built a camp there in 1902.

It later belonged to Howard T. Thompson and his wife Ruth from 1954 to 1985. He, Ruth and his six children spent every summer here until the children were grown. After retirement Howard and Ruth lived at Sunset Camp full time.
