Vernon Howard Jordan was a World War II veteran. He is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery. He was a son of Vernon and Sadie Washburn Jordan.

VERNON JORDAN SUICIDE VICTIM
Body Found In Car Yesterday Evening
Vernon Howard Jordon was found dead in his car on Hole Pond Road around 6:30 p. m. yesterday. His brothers-in-law, Thomas and Samuel Doty, discovered the body after searching for him throughout the afternoon.
According to coroner Ronald Keough, Dr. Anthony Gedroiz ruled the death a suicide caused by asphyxiation, A hose was found in the car leading to the exhaust pipe.
Mr. Jordan lived at 67 Bloomingdale Ave. in Saranac Lake. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Doty, whom he married in 1951. and a son, Thomas Robert, age eight.
He was born Oct. 31. 1924 in Saranac Lake to Vernon and Sadie Washburn Jordan. During World War II he saw service in the Air Corps. For the last nine years, he ran a news stand at 70 Broadway.
In January, Mr. Jordan suffered a slight concussion when a pick-up truck hit his car in Ausable Forks.
The body will be at Fortune Funeral Home until Friday, when Dr. Lionell Driscoll will conduct a service at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
