History

The service design with the short turns at Britannia was introduced in August 2005 on weekdays and in May 2011 on Saturdays. Before these dates, all buses travelled the entire route from Port Credit to Brampton. Mississauga Transit plans to redesign Sunday service the same way. Before September 2011, the route went further north into Brampton, ending at Shoppers World instead of at the GO park-and-ride lot. Passengers headed to Shoppers World now need to transfer to Brampton Transit's route 2 or use one of the express routes. Because of the shift in ridership from this route to the express routes, the rush hour frequency south of Square One was reduced in September 2012 for the first time in the route's history. Another overhaul in May 2014 removed about half of the service south of the Queensway from Monday to Saturday.
