A delicious and exciting way to spend an afternoon is to visit any one of the local wineries or their corresponding stores/tasting rooms, often located in town. Many of the local wineries supply wine to restaurants located all over Nevada County, so there is more than one way to sample some.
Grass Valley
- Lucchesi Vineyards and Winery: Tasting room located at the Corner of Neal and Mill, right next to Del Oro theatre. Open 9am-5pm(?).
- Sierra Knolls Winery & Vineyard: Tasting room Located on Mill Street. Open 12-5pm weekdays by appointment. Closed Tuesdays.
- Sierra Starr Vineyard & Winery: Tasting room on Main Street across from the Holbrooke Hotel. Open weekends from 12-5pm.
- Smith Vineyards & Winery: Located out Dog Bar Road. Visit by appointment.
- Naggiar Vineyards & Winery: Located on Rosemary Lane, out past Alta Sierra. Tasting room open 12-9pm on Friday and Saturday. Live music and food availabe. Open Sundays from 12-5pm.
- Avanguardia Wines: Located on Jones Bar Road. Wine tastings by appointment(?)
- Bent Metal Winery: Located on McCourtney Road. On site tasting room open Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm. Additional tasting room located on Mill Street.
Nevada City
- Nevada City Winery: The winery is located in the Miners Foundry parking lot, and the tasting room is located just up Spring Street. Open 11am-5pm daily. Winery tours on Saturdays at 11:30
- Double Oak Vineyards and Winery: Located on Blind Shady Road 15 miles out of downtown Nevada City. Open 11am-5pm by appointment.
- Iron Mountain Vineyards: Tasting room located on Main Street. Open 7 days a week by appointment.
Cedar Ridge
- Solune Winegrowers: Located on Jewett Lane off of Hwy 174. Tasting room open Saturdays and Sundays, 12-5pm, year round.
Penn Valley
- Coufos Cellars: Open Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm.
Chicago Park
- Montoliva Vineyard & Winery: Located on Mount Olive Road, off of Hwy 174. Open weekends 12pm-5pm.
