Carnegie Brick and Pottery Company was the manufacturers of pressed brick, with the Oakland sales branch located at the Adams Wharf, at the foot of Madison Street. In 1906, E. B. Stoddard was the manager. 1

In Oakland, the bricks were used to build the Hotel Oakland and the Harrison Hotel. 2

The bricks were made in Carnegie, CA, south of Tracy. Carnegie bricks were well-known, so that even after the company went into receivership and closed because of a flood in 1911, another brick company bought their resources and continued to make "Carnegie" bricks. 2
