The Municipal Government for the City of Oakland, California in 1876 was structured to be selected through a general election which was ordered to be held on the second Monday of March, 1877, and every two years thereafter, at which all members of the City Council and School Board and other city officers are to be elected, to serve for two years, without pay. The officers elected at the spring election of 1876 hold office until said general election.
