Steve Reeves (January 21, 1926 – May 1, 2000) was born in Glasgow, Montana; he and his mother moved to Oakland when he was 10 years old. He became interested in bodybuilding while at Castlemont High School and attended Ed Yarick's gym. He won many awards as a bodybuilder, eventually leading to a movie career.
