Vulcan Studios is an artist enclave in east Oakland on 45th Avenue and San Leandro Avenue. It houses 50+ art studios with a mix of visual artists, circus performers, and musicians. It also houses INFERNO art gallery and the Vulcan Cafe. There's a sweet mural there as well. And dog shit park.
As of February 2019, the Vulcan is threatened by possible commercial development that would displace most of the 200 artists who call it home. More information is available at http://www.savethevulcan.com
