The Valley Auto Garage, also known as the Elliot Shop, located at 440-448 23rd Street was a lovely brick building, demolished as part of the development of The Hive. Like the nearby McMann Apartments, the building was designed by Clay Burrell.
While some of the buildings in the block were preserved for new uses, housing was planned for this area. There were efforts to move the building to a new location, but no purchaser was found.
Until c.2014, the building was the site of Bauer Porsche, but they moved to 601 Brush Street near the intersection of the Nimitz Freeway and the Grove Shafter Freeway.
