Good Earth Restaurant and Bakery was part of a national chain of health food restaurants and was located at 185 University Avenue in Palo Alto, California. It opened in March 1976. It occupied the former House of Pies building. Many local chefs and restaurateurs got their start at Good Earth, including Bob Cool, a chef and former owner of "Late for the Train" in Menlo Park.

"What The Good Earth was trying to do was promote good, healthy, wholesome food for everyone, not just purists. They really embraced children, offering flavors they liked, so Mom and Dad could go out to eat and there was always something for the kids." – Bob Cool (2001)

The Palo Alto location closed in 2001 due to a retirement, and at the same time they closed many of the other local locations of the Good Earth in Cupertino, Los Gatos and San Mateo.
