Darrell Fong is a local representative of the city council, representing City Council District 7, which includes the neighborhoods of Greenhaven, Meadowview, Pocket, Valley Hi and North Laguna.

Darrell Fong was elected to the Sacramento City Council on November 2nd, 2010 and was sworn in to office on November 30th, 2010. Prior to Darrell’s election, he served as a Captain in the Sacramento Police Department, retiring in March 2009. Darrell began his career with the Sacramento Police Department as a Patrol Officer. Throughout his career in the Department, Darrell worked as a Field Training Officer, Detective, Gang Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Narcotics and Vice Sergeant, Internal Affairs Sergeant, Lieutenant, Watch Commander, Metro Executive Lieutenant, Special Ops Lieutenant (K-9, SWAT, EOD), and Captain. In addition, Darrell served on the Sacramento City Unified School District Emergency Preparedness Team, supervised the citywide gang prevention programs, and programs for students at Sacramento and Natomas School District Attendance Centers. Darrell was born and raised in Sacramento and has lived in the Pocket/Greenhaven neighborhood for nearly 30 years. Darrell is married to his wife Joy and has three children.
