The Bay Tree bookstore is one of the primary places professors order their textbooks for classes, especially for introductory level classes and the sciences/math. (Other professors, especially in the social sciences and humanities, prefer to order their books from the Literary Guillotine downtown.) Textbooks are shelved in the upper level, along with the computer center and school supplies. The lower level is dedicated mostly to Slugwear, UCSC memorobilia and non-required reading, including books written by many professors in residence. They also have a limited selection of sundries and gift items.
The Bay Tree Bookstore also sells items to meet the needs of students. Items for sale include but are not limited to textbooks, magazines, computer accessories, non-required books, and clothing ("Slugwear"). The bookstore is an official retailer for Apple Computer, and really has nothing to do with PCs, so don't bother if that's what you're looking for.
