A July 2010 review of Cliff Cafe in the Santa Cruz Sentinel states:

Cliff Cafe opened in 1982 -- Sue Edson-Homer bought the little restaurant in 1989 -- but its history started long before then. Traces of bolts in the cement floor indicate where booths were located in a past incarnation.

'It used to be the Rainbow Cafe and also the Two Sisters -- I forget which came first,' says Edson-Homer. 'And I've heard that back in the '40s it was the best bakery in town.'

The 20-seat restaurant caters to plenty of regulars.
