September 2018: The entire main house is torn down. All the remains are the front arches inside the fence.

Located at 519 Fair Ave. was designed and built by Kenneth Kitchen, who came to Santa Cruz in 1934
with his partner and elder brother, Raymond. Kenneth was a bricklayer and brother Raymond was a mason.
They helped build several houses in the area.

While the intent is unknown for sure, it was built during the night. Some suggest
an occult reason, others suspect to avoid the building inspector.

Kenneth Kitchen, who also went by Claire, Clarke, and Clarence came to Santa Cruz
in 1937 and left in 1957. Historians have been unable to trace what happened to
him.

The house was later used as a Greek house of worship (jokingly called the Unorthodox Temple).

It passed through a series of owners who left the property mostly vacant.
