Description

The Crooked Road Céilí Band (pronounced "kay-lee," Gaelic for "party") is Julie Horner, David Chadwick, and Ken Bewick playing traditional Irish reels, jigs, polkas, slides, hornpipes, barn dances, slip jigs, and waltzes on the hammered dulcimer, fiddle, tenor banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bodhran. Our instrumentation and interpretation of classic and modern Irish folk music presents a wholly unique groove guaranteed to add lilt and lift to your special occasion!

With roots deep in the San Francisco Bay Area Irish and Scottish music scene, we are frequently invited to play for set dancing and ceilidhs, both public and private. We host regular traditional Irish sessions in San Jose, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco, and are regulars on the Santa Cruz area farmers' market circuit. The jewels of our year are wine tasting events and weddings, both of which keep us busy from spring through fall, and we are willing to travel for the sheer excitement and adventure of it!

We specialize in weaving together lovely indigenous Irish folks melodies and Irish and American songs, perfect for intimate acoustic settings. Our spirit and our sound creates and contributes to the overall sense of community and cheer, the music endlessly listenable and uplifting. Whether indoors or out, amplified or not, on stage or on the street, let us share our love of traditional music with you at your next gathering!
