Monday night, September 10, 2007 saw the first of only two public consultations on TTC service cuts or fare hikes. The next one on Wednesday morning, September 12 at Toronto City Hall is when the vote may take place on whether to cut service or raise the fare.

This consultation is a consequence of the vote on new Toronto Taxes that City Council deferred til after the Provincial Election.

The TTC participated in the Public Consulation regarding the proposed service cuts.

Originally it was to be held in the rotunda of the Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Drive , but was moved into Scarborough Council Chambers.

TTC Chair Adam Giambrone, TTC Chief General Manager Gary Webster and City Councillors Michael Thompson, Chin Lee, Glenn De Baeremaeker abd City Council Budget Chief Shelley Carroll were in attendance.

The public listening as fellow neighbours and city residents address the councillors with their thoughts on proposed TTC Service Cuts. At its peak around 8 p.m. there was about 150 people present, including at least a dozen media, half that with t.v. cameras, and city support staff.
