On Wednesday August 21 2013, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford held a Public Community Meeting at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke.

He called the meeting to listen to constituents of whether they favoured a Municipal By-Election to fill the recently vacated Ward 3 Etobicoke Centre City Council Seat or whether to fill the position by appointing someone by Toronto City Council.

At the Special Toronto City Council Meeting on Monday August 26 2013, Mayor Rob Ford began his presentation with a video of people at this meeting who were in favour of a By-Election.

Ultimately, Toronto City Council opted to appoint someone to the vacant position.
