Costco Wholesale is the largest wholesale club operator in the United States (ahead of chief competitor Sam's Club). Costco is an an awesome "big box store", if by "big box" you mean big boxes of everything. If you ever need a whole case of motor oil or a five gallon drum of mustard, Costco has you covered.
You must be a member to shop there, though. Membership fees start at $50 a year, though the business accounts are higher (supposedly you get a refund, though). Personal accounts get cards for 2 people who are related or in a domestic partnership — hey, aren't roommates domestic partners?
This Costco has its food concession inside, which is good for the winter when it rains, but bad for trying to get really cheap pizzas and hot dogs without a Costco card.
Costco also gives its employees significantly better benefits than similar retailers, such as Walmart.
