Grand Avenue and North Grand Avenue together run north-south in three fragments through central and northern Woodland.

North Grand Avenue

North Grand Avenue is a one-block-long street that runs between Plane Avenue and Beamer Street. It is situated just east of North West Street and just west of North McKinley Avenue, south of Freeman Elementary School. It becomes Grand Avenue when it passes south of Beamer Street.

Grand Avenue

The northernmost segment of Grand Avenue is a one-block-long street that runs between Beamer Street and Clover Street, passing along the west side of Clark Field.

The central segment of Grand Avenue runs between Elliot Street and Court Street. From north to south, it intersects Plaza Alley, North Street, and Fire Alley. Its south end leads to Purity Plaza.

The southernmost segment of Grand Avenue runs between Main Street and Lincoln Avenue. It is situated just east of Cunningham Lane and just west of Academy Lane. It intersects Memorial LaneIts north end leads to Purity Plaza. It passes by the Thirsty Goat and a Girl Scout Cabin.

The southernmost segment of Grand Avenue has been planted with street trees by the city. The street trees include the invasive weed species Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana). However, they also include Western Sycamore (Platanus racemosa), which is native to Woodland, and Modesto Ash/Arizona Ash (Fraxinus velutina), which is native to other parts of California. Other non-native street trees on this segment of Grand Avenue include Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba), Goldenrain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), European Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis), and Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis).
