The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council was founded more than 25 years ago as the local partner to the California Arts Council for Yuba and Sutter Counties. It works to increase public awareness of and participation in the arts, including helping to develop arts programs in K-12 schools and increasing access to professional quality arts in both the more urban and the more rural areas of the two counties.

The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council provides technical assistance to the artistic aspects of such events as the Bok Kai Festival and Parade, the Very Special Arts Festival, and the Yuba-Sutter Cultural Celebration. In conjunction with Comcast Cable, it produces the award-winning weekly television program "Artists Alive," showcasing the creative talent of the area. It also publishes a quarterly arts magazine that is distributed to members, sponsors, and local businesses.
