Chef Alex Young of Zingerman’s Roadhouse was nominated last month for a James Beard Award, and I was fortunate enough to be able to drop in for a quick interview with him. Zingerman’s Roadhouse, part of the Zingerman empire, specializes in classic American cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced, high quality ingredients. Almost all of their meat and vegetables are sourced locally through Cornman farms (a farm that originally started as a side-project for Chef Young).
