Electronic files containing records of voters who participated in specific elections are available by request from the Ann Arbor City Clerk's office. The files reflect participation in an election, not how a person voted. In addition to data fields for name, address, ward and precinct, the files also include the year of birth. From each voter's year of birth, it's possible to analyze an approximate distribution of voter age.

Below are four charts showing the distribution of voter age in the Aug. 5, 2014 mayoral primary, the Nov. 4, 2014 general election, an approximation for the distribution of ages of Ann Arbor residents over 18 (voting age), and the distribution of ages among roughly 90,000 registered voters as of February 2015. In each chart, the vertical red line indicates the median of the age distribution.

Note that this distribution is approximate, based on the 2010 census. It is not the distribution of ages of registered voters. Rather it is the distribution of ages of the voting-age population in Ann Arbor.
