Kempf House

The Kempf House Museum recreates life in Ann Arbor in the 1890s of a prosperous German-American family, musicians Reuben and Pauline Kempf.

It is located at 312 S. Division Street next to Liberty Plaza.

The house was built in 1853 for Henry DeWitt Bennett, an active citizen who served some years as postmaster and, from 1869 to 1886, as secretary and steward of the University of Michigan. The temple-style Greek Revival building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
